(This is a bachelor’s graduation project and is presented
as a proposal for the existing identity of Mersin Archaeology Museum.)

This visual identity design, proposed for the Mersin Archaeology Museum, is shaped around the developmental process between the periods repres-ented within the museum itself. In the logo design born from this idea, the formal differences between the Lithos and Trajan typefaces have been considered; the Lithos typeface (Mersin) is associated with the Neolithic Age, the first period exhibited, while the Trajan typeface (Müzesi) is associated with the Roman Period, the last period exhibited.

The word Archaeology, placed between Mersin and Museum, expresses the 'developmental process between the two periods' by transferring each letter of the word 'archaeology' into the percentage proportions of the chosen two typefaces (Lithos & Trajan).

The shape present in the logo is negatively integrated into the pictogram design to ensure consistency with the visual identity, and all graphic products used (totems, pictograms, staff cards, mobile application design, posters, etc.) are related to the logo.
